Wino Happy Hour 4-6PM Monday through Friday ~ very bottle of wine is 50% OFF.
The longtime location of a stuffy beer and shot bar with no windows and very little ventilation has been transformed into an fresh, open, chic, yet casual, bistro. The menu features "refined comfort food" with local and small purveyors being the primary suppliers. The same holds true with the wine and beer lists, as the restaurant features a full bar with a wonderful craft beer selection, as well as, a nice wine list and signature cocktails.
American/Traditional
See review for New American.
Bartender Jim Maglio and crew have put together a great list of signature cocktails. The Old School Martini is a take on a classic "dirty," and The Creamy Chocolate Martini is a nice after dinner drink.
New American
There are a few very good restaurants in town, but what Conshohocken has been lacking is a great place to "hangout" in the neighborhood that has outstanding food. The StoneRose, it appears, has answered that need. Chef Jason Lipnicki has assembled a well balanced menu of classic dishes and comfort foods that represent neighborhood dining casually, yet exquisitely.
Bar Menus
This is hands down the best bar menu in town. As of this review, there is no close second at this level of execution. The StoneRose menu is sans the greasy fried foods that are staples elsewhere.
Beer List
They carry 15 micro-brews by the bottle, an additional 14 other bottled beers, and 6 seasonal craft selections.
Burger
It is no secret that The StoneRose has put a great deal of emphasis on The StoneRose Burger. In fact, our PJ's and Coffee Blog featured it long before reviewers had a chance to visit the restaurant. After officially sampling this Premium Gold Angus Beef patty for ourselves, we can attest to the fact that you can believe the hype. The special process of cooking the burger on a salt bed in a cast iron skillet requires a little extra time, so be prepared in advance, however, the extra 5 minutes is well worth the wait. The bacon chopped into the sauteed cipollini onions really makes the sandwich.
Business Lunch
Our prediction is this will become the new business-lunch hot spot by year's end.
Fun Atmosphere
It is fun without being annoyingly loud, and the food is great. Enough said.
Lunch Casual
For a casual lunch, Conshohocken is lucky to have a great new, upscale, yet affordable option. The SLT (salmon, lettuce and tomato) and Carved Turkey Sandwich are nice alternatives to the burger.
Meet For a Drink
The bartenders are friendly and attentive. Bartender Jim Maglio and crew have put together a great list of signature cocktails. The Old School Martini is a take on a classic "dirty," and The Creamy Chocolate Martini is a nice after dinner drink. There are two large flat screen TVs. The food, beer and wine selection are great, and the music is not overbearing like some other places in town, which will remain nameless, of course.
Watch A Game
This is by no means a sports bar, however, the 14-seater bar is very comfortable. Additionally, the bar tables in the front room are positioned such that the view of the flat screens is perfect. Why not watch a game here?
Wine List
The StoneRose is using all small purveyors. They offer, by far, the nicest selection of wines in this one square-mile town. Chances are that the wine list will change often so we won't make any recommendations, other than to try whatever Jim recommends.
