It is difficult to know where to begin when describing this "heavenly" French nestled in The Rittenhouse Hotel overlooking Rittenhouse Square. Not only one of Philadelphia's most lovely settings, Lacroix serves some of the city's finest dishes. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as, Philadelphia's best brunch. The views of the park are beautiful, especially during the holidays, so try to get a table near a window if possible, and don't forget to bring someone else to pay!
French
Every detail from the "flawless" service, to the "spectacular" cuisine, will impress even the most critical diners.
Brunch
"Divine" is a word used by many to describe the brunch served by chef de cuisine, Jason Cichonski at Lacroix in The Rittenhouse Hotel. With food stations "everywhere," it's difficult to know where to begin. The usual route is at the Bloody Mary Bar, then off to the raw bar and caviar station, followed by the creative canapes, hors d'oeuvres and small plates served in the main dining room. (Do not miss the chocolate foie gras truffles, if available!) The culinary journey continues into the kitchen where carving stations and hot entrees await your attention. Make sure you leave room for the decadent desserts and watch the "show" at the liquid nitrogen station. The price tag for all of this (excluding the Bloodies which are additional) is a bargain at $58 a person.
Business Dinner
The quiet setting in The Rittenhouse Hotel, along with excellent French cuisine and impeccable service, makes it a perfect location for business dinners. If you love great food, have an expense account, and for the men, if you are wearing a jacket, Lacroix is your place.
Business Lunch
The namesake for retired acclaimed chef, Jean Marie Lacroix, has continued its tradition of excellence long after his departure. The ambience of The Rittenhouse Hotel, along with Lacroix's excellent cuisine and service, offers you a unique experience for any business luncheon.
Chef's Table
Long gone is the highly acclaimed French chef that lends Lacroix its name, as well as his surrogate Matthew Levin, but the changes have been transparent to the near perfection of food and service at Lacroix. There is nowhere better to experience the complete culinary presentation than to sit kitchen side and have a front row seat. At $165 per person, it is difficult to call this a bargain, however, compared to Chefs' tables around the country, the value is tremendous and worth every penny.
Fish
For lovers of all things from the sea, Lacroix prepares spectacular fish and seafood dishes.
