The Conshy bakery has been an institution in Conshohocken since 1973. For area residents growing up here in the 1970's, there were two things you could count on, namely, the smell of nuts roasting at Edward Freedman's nut house and the aroma of Conshy Bakery's Italian breads and rolls. The tradition lives on for Domenico Gambone, and his family as they continue to fulfill their life long passion and true love for the art of bread making. Crusty rolls and Italian breads and sublime tomato pies are not only distributed all over the tri-state area but also continue to be sold at the small retail store front on Jones Street in Conshohocken seven days a week. If you have never tried their bread, you are really missing something special and if you've never witnessed the face of a young child light up when they are offered a free, fresh, warm roll as you wait to pay for your purchases, you've never witnessed "pure delight!" The Conshohocken Italian Bakery is what family tradition is all about. Be sure to make a trip to Conshy to share some of their family with yours!
